Still waiting at Hastings?

According to LSN, Hastings has been accepting off their waitlist.

Uh...I haven't even received a decision yet (went complete 12/21).

WTF?

Wow.  That's supremely uncool, considering there are still so many people waiting on decisions.  It seems obvious now that anyone who has not heard anything has been rejected, but how hard is it to update their stupid status checker as such?

Agreed on the half-assness.

I guess I don't fully get how this whole thing works - I thought the WL meant "we like you but only if we can't fill the class with people we've admitted outright."

Maybe if they changed their admissions criteria halfway through, and the WL people are now "better" than those without decisions yet...is that how it works?

i applied in early nov and still no decision!

Applying there was just a waste of money in my mind.

half-assed operation is right...

I got a call today from admissions to let me in off of the waitlist.  I was in a final, so I couldn't answer my phone. 
I will call them tomorrow asap to turn down the offer, so I hope one of ya'll gets a call, or a decision, very soon!

Yeah.  IMHO a school should not admit people off the waitlist before it has made decisions (admit/deny/waitlist) on its still pending applicants.  That's just screwed up.

Seriously! We paid them $75 to review our applications. Because this is true, we should a review and decision notification should happen. I think that it is entirely inexcusable that there are applicants being accepted off of the waitlist when we have had NO status update. If the AdCom can take the time to review you, waitlist you and then admit you, there should be time to review our applications and provide us with the same courtesy.
