Is doing all 44 Preptests really necessary???

I have decided that I need a lot of practice (obviously, look at my scores).  There's no way I'm doing all 44 though (or however many there are).  It also seems to me that it isn't really necessary.  I would think after studying the techniques then doing around 7 or 8 preptests, one would just be achieving only a marginal benefit from further preptests (probably depends on the person though).  What do you guys think?  Does it really help to do all 40 or so preptests?

i think that you certainly peek after doing around ten.

but you are taking the lsat in december, right?  might as well spread them out and do a lot of them.  i kind of wish i did a few more (my real lsat was my tenth).

oh really -  no i was planning on october actually.  im planning on doing around 10 or 11 (ive done 4 so far).  u think ill be allright?

wish i had studied more though ... if i did all 44 I guess I wouldn't have to say that

baff, sorry if you got the wrong impression.  i think that you will be alright.

i did nine practice tests, but i did a decent amount of studying and practicing in between, too.  if you do ten in two weeks, and that is it, then no, you won't peek that quick.

ive been studying (approximately 5-10 hrs a week) for the past 2-3 months.  i am going to start doing a lot of practice tests now.  ive taken 4 and i plan on taking another 7 or 8 (depending upon how many i can get in).  ill prob end up doing somewhere between 10 to 15 practice tests (ill be studying about 15 hrs a week from now till oct 2).

just don't burn out practicing for the test.  i think I ended up doing 30 of them.  my method was to do 1 test over the course of a week, then do a full length test every saturday morning (did it at the kaplan center in a controlled environment, so no distractions).  the week before, i relaxed.  before doing all 44, make sure you know why you missed the questions you did on the previous ones, the tricks to be learned, and the pattern of questions that you are missing.  identify your strengths and weaknesses, don't do all 44 blindly.
