Vanderbilt Phone Call
« on: May 01, 2006, 06:29:09 PM »
Did anyone get a Vanderbilt phone call today? What'd they say? I did, and they left a message to call back. I figured I would call tomorrow, since it's kind of late. Is there already a topic about this?

I haven't heard of anyone getting a phone call, but they should be going to their waitlist any day. Keep us informed.

I got one a couple days ago--it was an acceptance. Good luck!

How much money did they offer you? Was it based on need, merit, or both?

Merit-based, I believe. I haven't rcved the Federal Aid stuff yet.

Initially offered $10k/yr with no restrictions, then when I told them I was already committed somewhere else, plus had a better offer from UVA, was asked how much they could offer to get me to change my mind. So my take is that it's still negotiable.

HTH. :)

Yeah, I think they would have to offer me a good amount since I sent in my deposit to BU and was planning to go there.

How much would it take for you to change your mind and go to Vanderbilt vs Boston?

Probably at least 15k, I don't know if I could live in the south, and TN is at least 15 hours away from home.
