HLC - I was hoping someone would start a nice shiny new Wisconsin thread!

I haven't even started looking for apts. yet, but I know I should probably start sometime really soon.  Right now I'm in the middle of finishing a thesis and writing another 20 page paper for a class I'm taking... aaargh.  I really wish I could forget the work and start the apt. hunt now, but alas I still have a couple of weeks until my school work is finito.

I'm planning on driving up at the end of the month to look at apts. and hopefully close a deal on something.  I have to stay here (I'm in Austin, TX) until August as my lease isn't up until then, so I'm probably looking to move around mid-August to my new home in Madison.  Exciting times, but lots o' work.

If you are trying for 8/15, it should be fairly easy.  I want to move for 8/1, and am having a difficult time.  I also need a 2 bedroom (OK, I don't need one, I want one) b/c my SO and I have a lot of stuff.

I am going to put my list of places I saw in a Word doc so everyone else can look at it too.  I will post when it is done.

greetings.  i'm leaning towards living in the university apartments because i don't plan on staying in madison during the summers, and i like the flexible lease terms.  that being said, i'll wait until later in the summer to browse for off-campus housing because apparently you can find better deals as the school year approaches.

If it weren't for my SO, I could do the same!

less stress, cheaper, more freedom...
also, married people live longer, and i want to die young (like around 60).

That's hilarious!

I wonder why that is jammer?  Were you born in another country?  I am asking b/c no school has asked me to verify citizenship...and I have a very long, very German last name.

I moving into my own 1 bedroom across from Tenney Park.  Its a beautiful location - about 15 minutes on a bus, and 4 different bus routes go right by my place straight to school.  There are also several nice places over by St. Mary's hospital and the Arboretum on High St and Brooks St.  Buses run right through there too.  If I didn't get in at Tenney Park I'd be moving over there.  Actually, I'd be happy to live anywhere on the Isthmus, though some places in the Willy St area are a little run down.  I still love that neighborhood though.
