Are Deferrals Binding?

If I defer an acceptance, am I prohibited from applying to schools next cycle? Does this vary by school?

You get in a lot of trouble I'm told.

Depends on the school, a friend and I did it from different schools.  He is allowed to apply to other schools while mine is completly binding.

I wouldn't have enough balls to test it and find out.

If you dont want to go to a school, dont go, it is as simple as that.

I agree. I was curious though if anyone on this board has done this though.

Some old post said that UVA's deferral is not binding. But no other school's information.
Hope someday we can get a list of which ones are binding and which ones are not.
