Not quite. It depends on the line and time of day, from every 15 to every 50.

Can anyone give me a rundown on Internet services in Philly?

I am so furious at Time Warner right now--I just waited for TWO appointments that they failed to show up for--that I'm basically soured on everything.  >:(

Any cool alternatives?  What happened with that whole low-cost wireless thing?

I think they're working on it.  It's free some spots already (love park, rittenhouse I think).  I had internet through a company called hotwire.  They were small, slow, but cheap.  Comcast is pretty standard there.

I second that, I'm getting Comcast.

Probably getting Comcast, but it sucks that the Triple Play offer (Digital cable, phone, and internet $100 per month for 12 months) isn't avaliable where I'll be living at in a few weeks(Devon, PA).

Comcast isn't very good if you want to download large files overnight.

However, customer service with Comcast is about on par (i.e., equally bad) with Verizon's.

i believe the city-wide wireless is coming soon.  I forget what I heard last but I heard it was on track

I thought they were going to try to limit people to one or two hours at a time.

Maybe I'm thinking of somewhere else, though. :-\

Random question.

I am going to be living on 20th and Walnut and, though I will walk a lot, I also plan on using public transportation to get to Penn. Given that, which is generally better: the bus or the trolley? I think there's a bus stop right by me and I hear there's a trolley stop by me too, so I wanted to get some native Philadelphian's opinions. Thanks!

I like the trolley.  It's underground over there, and you don't deal with traffic and whatnot.  The trolley stop is very close to where you are and to Penn.
