Harvard Ding--Bad news for other "Holds"
« on: April 24, 2006, 05:47:54 PM »
Sorry to start a new thread, couldn't find the old ones.

Out at Harvard, today. Here's how I found out:

I got an email from Georgetown today saying that a package they had sent me had been returned in the mail. I am no longer living at that address because I am out of the country. So, I figured maybe HLS had sent something too. I called their admissions office and spoke to a nice man. He first informed me that a decision had been made and a letter was sent today. I asked him if he could tell me over the phone, which he was initially reluctant to do. But, when I explained my situation (abroad, mail getting returned etc) he told me over the phone that I had been rejected.

So. I would wager a guess that the first round of rejections for the hold applicants were sent out today.

My stats, for those who dont know, are 3.62/175, applied mid-October. 11/29 complete. Placed on hold in late January. NO calls from Toby Stock, ever. :-(

Rejection sucks, but it is one less decision. NYU here I come!!

I'm sorry to hear that B.K.  :(

But hey, Cambridge is alright but you can't beat Manhattan!   ;)

Thanks girl. It's true, I keep reminding myself of that. Plus, now I get to stay in the same city with my BF, friends and family. In a way, the rejection is a blessing.

I would have gone to CLS if they had offered me money, but in the end it was just too close to call and my gut tells me Chicago is the right choice (although I did heads or tails 4 times and each time it came up Columbia...).

You're kidding? You're going against the coin flip? There is only a 1 in 16 chance of that happening randomly. Perhaps a higher power wants you to come join the party in Columbia!

Was informed my application was on hold 3/3,  received a waitlist notification today.

Considering my LSAT score, this is a major victory for me!

Some of us have heard nothing at all. No hold, no waitlist, but no rejections. Any idea what that means?
