"Center for Student Opinion Research" Survey

I got a call from these people on my cell phone - they must have gotten it from a application or my LSDAS file.  They kept calling until I answered the phone.  I was totally creeped out by it and very suspicious.  I answered one question and then stopped the survey.

I asked the people a number of times how they got my number and they just kept saying the name of the company.

This seems really fishy...

Everyone should file complaints:

What is the name of the company again?  Just "Center for Student Oopinion Research"?

I think Center for Student Opinion Research is a fake name, and that the company's real name is wba market reserach or something.

Yeah, I think WBA is right.  Can anyone with the actual materials confirm?

You know, many of us instintctively blamed Michigan, but could this be Columbia's attempt to feel out what would happen if they stopped participating in the US news rankings? Perhaps they expect their rankings to continue to decline and want to get out while they're in the T5/T10?

I'm thinking that before a bunch of tweaked-out 0Ls start assembling pipe bombs, the most sensible approach might just be to write an e-mail to the designated person (Molly Goldman, Research Director signed my letter) asking what's up.

I'm not convinced they're not just slow.

I cannot. Presumably the impromptu vigilante army forming to take on WBA would have to look it up in advance of any action.

(EDIT FOR ANY ADCOMMS: The tongue is firmly in cheek. I neither advocate nor condone vigilante action, especially for the purpose of recouping $25.)
