Instead of paying farmers to destroy crops, pay them to export to starving nations...?

We are moving inexorably to the point of making this planet uninhabitable

Join in global environmental treaties instead of stonewalling them; pump money into public transportation and wean the U.S. from the oil teat. Constitutionally ban vehicles getting less than 30mpg.

5 million people a year are contracting HIV

Get AMA to lift restrictions on med school enrollment -- require newly minted docs to spend 1-3 yrs abroad, educating and treating disease. Offer partial loan forgiveness.

Millions of people in this country are disenfranchised, marginalized, living in a dead-end alley

Nuclear weapons are unsecured, and some thousands of determined fanatics would like to get a hold of some and blow it up inside Times Square

Lead the rally to round up ALL nukes -- ALL of them -- for destruction. Including our own. Destroy the weapons technology. Banish the things from the earth. ALL of them.

Countless women are battered, raped, etc every single day.

Ban pornography. Criminalize it. Treat all porn like child porn and seek to eradicate it entirely.

1. Tax the wealthiest 2% at a 70% rate (income tax); the wealthiest 10% at 55%.

2. Withdraw military presence from other countries unless they ask us to stay as protection against a neighboring threat.

3. Cut military spending in half. Maybe more.

4. Increase teacher salaries to $50K/yr -- adjusted for COL, with $50K/yr in Topeka KS as a baseline. Also, increase the number of teachers so that elementary class sizes are no larger than 20 students.

5. Pump all that money saved from the military into public education (including higher education) -- mostly for teacher salaries, new hiring, and facilities & resources.

6. Modify/revise welfare programs into worker programs -- i.e. provide productive work to welfare recipients, for which they receive welfare benefits.

If future lawyers don't have big ideas, who will? Musicologists?

we should stop sending food to the starving people.  Instead, we should teach them to grow their own food - and not beef cattle to sell to the US either, we need to give them the resources to support themselves internally - grow the food that their region CAN support.  Sending them food keeps them alive, allows them to reproduce, grows the population and thereby increases the problem.  They have to be self sufficient to progress past the era of starvation.

Also, the Catholic church should condone the use of condoms for the purpose of preventing overpopulation and the spread of HIV, especially in relevant areas.

And you can't seem to overcome a lack of intellect, despite all your best efforts. It doesn't make you look smart when you put down smart people.

Legalize and regulate prostitution and drugs .  Tax the hell out of them  Use the proceeds to fund health care for EVERYONE. With prostitution legalized the porn industry will suffer a little bit, or grow to ginormous proportions.  If the latter happens tax the hell out of it and use the money to fund scientifically based sex ed programs and free condom/birth control programs.    

Confiscate all SUVs and put them in all on blocks without the engines in the vacent lots in all the cities and give the keys to the homeless people so they have shelter.  You could install solar panels to heat them.  

Severe campaign contributions and give politicans free airtime and no interest group can buy airtime for a positive of negative candidate related ad.

Force drug companies to deliver, at cost, drugs to developing countries.  

I know these aren't feasible but it is fun to dream.
