Where would you go next fall?
« on: April 18, 2006, 06:50:22 PM »
Asking for your counsel on this issue: Louisville (in-state) versus University of Florida?
Do you think both of these schools are basically regional therefore I should choose where I want to practice?  Or is Florida so superior that I would be crazy not to attend?

Would you be able to take another LSAT? You might want to try and get a higher score to open up more options. University of Florida is decent, but don't give up on yourself. Rome wasn't built in a day!!

Florida.

First of all, I think UF is the way to go.  Second, choosing UF would not really be giving up on yourself.  I am going to UF and I am passing up a couple of schools in the top 20 to go there.  UF basically presents a better option for me financially and because of family reasons.  Let me add, though, that I alreadly live in Florida.  If you are moving to FL, which it looks like you are, then make sure you know that Florida is not a national school by any consideration.  Chances are that your first job out of law school will be in Florida with a slight possibility of getting a job in Atlanta.  Having said that, UF is a great school and will provide you with many options.  Taking the LSAT would only be an option if you think with a reasonable certainty that you will score in the mid 160s, otherwise go with UF.
