re: the email:
when I called the housing check phone number, the message said I received an offer 6/28 (haven't/compulsive email checking) and that I have until 7/5 to respond. I suspect it's a similar story for others!

what kind of need based aid did columbia offer to everyone here?

i wonder what kind of need based aid i would receive as a 27 year old married student with a family income of 50K.  my parent's combined income ~ 80K (overseas).

any guess?

Columbia is hard to gage because the need based and merit based scholarships are called the same thing, "Scholarship Grant," and seem to be some sort of combination of both.

well i suppose it would have been even weirder if it were accurate.

oh yes, and i've said this elsewhere, but in case you missed it, i think you look like a grown-up version of your tar.

:D not the first time i've heard that. i consider it a compliment.

Now I'm curious as to what you actually look like  :-[

What are your numbers, if you don't mind me asking?

This is, of course, why I am going to NYU.  No CLS $$$

I didn't originally get much CLS $$$, dod you try to get them to match? Usually CLS will come pretty close to what NYU offers once you ask for it.

Swats, the OPC should never fall off of the last 200. JSIA. Looks like I won't be joining the Columbia club anytime soon, but congratulations to all of you.

Ah well...I meant numbers as in approximate age and immediate family income...but my GPA was medianish, and my LSAT exceeded the 75th percentile.

Okay, so I just checked my email and I saw "Housing Assignment" in the header for a new email.  I got all excited only to open it and read that some server is down and while we've all got housing assignments, they're all in queue until ???  (I'm not buying that "today or tomorrow" line.  CLS waiting has made me cynical, I fear  :-\ )
