Southside, did you get the 1-bedroom by applying for couples' housing?  Or are you single?  I'm asking because I was under the impression that 1-bedrooms were only for couples.

One - bedrooms are not just for couples.

I want mine!! OK, all done being a two-year old, but I'm pretty nervous because for some reason I assumed all  the housing was furnished. I guess if rent is so cheap it will be ok, but I am very not in the mood to go furniture shopping in New York without a car and without a clue where to go. OK, off to check my e-mail all the  time...

There's an IKEA in Elizabeth, NJ. That's about 30mins from CLS.

I don't remember, but I'm sure I would have requested furnished if that was an option. That makes me feel better, since I have a better chance of getting furnished if there was an option and I chose it. Has anyone gotten their orientation materials yet? Do they send it to your permanent address? That's where I am, and I'm getting impatient!

Hey, is it really at 123rd and Claremont?  Not to be a feminine hygiene product, but 123rd doesn't intersect w/ Claremont....

It's where 123rd would intersect with Claremont if it did. You'll make a great lawyer, I can tell.

out of curiousity, what's your address on claremont?  I live in 160 (not columbia housing) and was under the impression that none of the buildings on this block were student housing (except for Manhattan School of Music's dorm).

Oh..well anyways, it looks nice up there (as far as i can tell from Google maps).  Plus, its probably advantageous to be a few more blocks away from the nexus of anxiety come exam time.

Am I the only one that is doing In-Person Selection? The email from CLS is making me think I should switch over to Direct Assignment and ask for Lenfest, even if it is kind of over-priced. I just wanted to be able to have some choice in where me and my wife live, but they make it seem like my options might be really limited.

I'd also like to add I think the way they handle the housing payment and security deposit is kinda bad.
