Apparently there are current students who have access to the message board on the ND site.  They might be able to answer some of your questions about furnished v.
unfurnished.

Mccap, where did you go to school in JAX?  I just found out I got in today off the provisional list.  I'm excited about getting started here in about two months.

I was planning on selling my car, I live in florida, when I was going to go to St Johns in NY.  Would I need a car living in South Bend?

I went to school at St. Joseph's from 3-8 and then went to Bishop Kenny for two years before moving to Jacksonville.

I went to ND for undergrad as well, and I would say that Turtle Creek and Clover Ridge are the off-campus party apartments for undergrads, so if you want to avoid that atmosphere, choose another place off campus. I will be living in a house, but Fisher graduate housing is nice if you want to stay on campus!
