oooooh my turn (reality is in italics):

harvard-rejected rejected
chicago-rejected accepted!
stanford-waitlisted, rejected still waiting, so probably rejected
u. michigan-accepted accepted
uva-accepted accepted
duke-waitlisted, accepted accepted
uc davis-accepted accepted
uc hastings-accepted accepted
boalt-hopefully accepted (?), but probably waitlisted waitlisted
santa clara-accepted accepted
william and mary-accepted (but maybe not, because i didn't do their personal essay) accepted
washington and lee-accepted accepted
vanderbilt-accepted accepted
notre dame-accepted accepted

so i did pretty well  ;D chicago was a surprise and even though i steeled myself for a waitlist, boalt was a little surprising as well.

Applied to 15 schools (my first choice UVA plus Harvard, Yale, and a bunch of other top schools going down the list). Actual result? Accepted to 12...I wasted dozens of hours and hundreds of dollars and will be attending Virginia in the fall. But hey, better safe than sorry. :D
