I have a feeling this thread is going to be very depressing.  Before we become too cynical, does anyone have a positive take on our chances?

Does harvard have a waitlist, or is their yield too high for that?
Hopefully more Sam Seaborn than Richard Nixon....

To my knowledge, there's no official waitlist.  I believe they would accept the students they deferred to fill in any gaps in their incoming class.

Well, with Toby Stock as the new dean they might have changed it, but according to LSN they sent out waitlist notices in May last year. Same time they sent a batch of deferred-rejections but it seems like there are a lot more deferrals this year (EVERYONE I met at Penn was deferred by Harvard) so last year may not be that indicative of this one. Still, I doubt they'd ditch using a waitlist altogether, sometimes people drop LS plans altogether, or maybe their 1 spot drop in the rankings means theyll lose more crossadmits to Stanford (wishful thinking I know).

What if you already received the first phone call...it's been almost two weeks now....still a chance?
