Although I am not Hawaiian, I am awfully curious of the job market there for attorneys..

think of the job market in other small cities around the world.  now add to that the fact that hawaii is relatively isolated.  since honolulu is our largest city (and it's not that large to begin with), jobs are scarce all around, and even more so for lawyers.  honolulu is pretty much where you'll find the bigger firms, while the outer island cities are predominantly more private practice.  however, if you specialize in international transaction law with expertise on asia/pacific rim, hawaii is a really great place to be.

no argument here.  it's just a lot more difficult to pay for our high cost of living without a good job.

but alas...it's home...

Not native Hawaiian but born and raised in Hawaii. Took awhile to lose the pidgin accent. Still catch myself sometimes reverting back to using "brah."

I'm Native Hawaiian - mom's family is from Molokai (some on Oahu, mostly at Hickam, but she was a Mililani Trojan...also a branch on Kauai but we only see them at reunions) and dad's family is from Oahu (mostly Honolulu and Mililani).

Are you applying to law school this year too?

Feel free to PM me!
