What did your parents do for a living?

Steel Making- Blue collar and Homemaker. You probably have one of my father's parts in your car engine.

Poverty-sricken
Dad was a night watchman which in America = Night shift security guard
Mom is a stay at home

My background today is upper middle class

Probably upper middle
Mom is an investment banker turned regulator (currently chairman of bda's central bank)
Dad is an accountant turned politician (currently bda's minister of education)

What is the income bracket each category falls into?

Upper Mid
Mom - Worked the corporate scene all of her life.  Now works at Harvard Business School
Dad - Psychologist, Prof. @ top Private school in MA

Both doctors.

I work in media, fresh out of college.  Poor, :(

Lower middle class

Mom is a public school teacher in NYC
Father is retired.  When he was working, he did odd jobs, like fixing people's houses and doing plumbing and stuff.  He mostly considered himself "self-employed" during that time period and my mother pretty much brought in all the money.
