anyone from D.C. or went to GW?
« on: March 28, 2006, 09:48:50 PM »
so i'm going to be working in D.C. this summer, and GW seems to have some of the best packages for temporary living. i was wondering if anyone knew which GW apartments were the nicest.

Guthridge, FSK, JBKO, The Aston, Schenley, Munson, 2109 F Street, International House, The West End and Building JJ are all buildings available.

thanks.

I dont think you can really go wrong in most places around GW/foggy bottom. Try to get the one closest to the metro. Have you spent a great deal of time in DC?

not a lot. but i'm limited to GW apartments. so, since it's student housing, i imagine the facilities may be a bit old/dirty/used.. lol.

Any place in the district that costs less than 2500 per month is bound to be a bit old/dirty/used (Thats a bit of an stretch, but not much). Seriously though, I dont think it will matter much in the end. The Foggy Bottom/GW area is really nice and very close to Dupont and Georgetown. You will definetly enjoy your time here, I know a have. It was a HUGE change of pace moving from Cleveland. Though i dont know too much about GW specifically, feel free to PM/email me any questions you may have about living in DC.

To be honest, I'm not familiar.

It's a classy name, though.

yeah, that's my thought. it's located a bit away from the campus.

I live in the area, but cannot comment on the buildings you mention.  I would never live in foggy bottom.  Its over priced and you are going to be surrounded by undergrads. in any GW affiliated building.

Oh, I thought you meant for the fall.  You are only living there through summer?  Should be fine.  Its still overpriced.

Do you have a map?  I think a lot of buildings are considered officially "off campus" even though they're really not off campus.

Don't you get to have some say in where you're going?

no. i just registered and it said, "this is your room" essentially.

1129 New Hampshire Avenue is the address of the building.
