Time to give up on Boalt?
« on: March 25, 2006, 03:12:48 PM »
I haven't heard a word since the "faculty review" e-mail, and everyone during the last few days has been dinged.

Also, Boalt is closed next week for spring break, and I would think that they would have gotten their final wave of acceptances out before then.

Is it time for me to throw in the towel?  Am I holding on to false hope?

Sorry, I'm right there with ya', but it's over.  As of right now, the best to hope for is the waitlist.

There was another thread about this - title is something about 3/22 faculty review email - and it seems like the only people who got dinged are the ones who called and asked.  And I think somebody called and they said acceptances would be sent out over a week.  Not sure if that meant last week or next week.

Has anyone who got the 3/22 review email also received a snail mail ding letter?  Why would they not send those all at once?

And I don't understand why they didn't just send ding letters to all of us who haven't received a "faculty review' email immediately?

Since there is no hope for us at all.

I'm worried because next week is spring break and Boalt is closed the entire time.  I'd think that they would have sent out acceptance offers before closing.

Hey Everybody,
I got the faculty review email. When I called to receive my decision two days ago (waitlist), the person said that decisions were still trickling out. They hadn't even sent out my waitlist letter yet. So, yes, I think there is hope for those who haven't received decisions yet. Good luck!

Are the offices actually closed, or just classes?  For some reason I thought admin usually came in to work over short breaks....
Work, and a PT online MLIS.  Reapply down the line.

I am currently attending Berkeley as an undergrad, and I'm pretty sure that despite the fact that students are on a break most offices on campus are open. I know campus as a whole is closing down on the Friday of this week, as their "mini-break."

I think it's over.  Waitlist is the best we can hope for.
