"Should I go here, or there?":What is your criterion for selecting a Law School?

So depending on where you plan on practicing you would go to the highest ranked Law Firm in that area?  Or was it based on preferred weather conditions and the vicinity to large cities?

I applied to schools in the areas I could see myself working in (all but one in TX and VA) which are the preferred areas because I like the weather/culture/opportunities/cost of living better than the northern states I've spent time in. Ranking didn't play a very big role, it just happens that the highest ranked school I got into fits me the best in terms of location, strength in specific programs, etc.

After researching the numbers,location, rankings, programs and cost...Visiting the school and asking myself if would be happy, comfortable and fit in for three years if i went there has been the most important question for me.  Deciding on paper is tough and neglects the distinctive feel that each school has.

I do not know yet; I am still waiting for the acceptance/rejection letters from all the UG institutions.

I applied to about 16 schools in total, I only heard from two (Syracuse University, and Boston College) for now.  I was accepted to Syracuse and rejected by BC.

oh right UG admissions are non-rolling and much slower. In that sense, some of us LS applicants should really stop complaining about "slow" LS decisions.

I will let you all know where I decide to go once I hear from every school.    I'm glad they didn't send me the letters yet, I'm scared shitless.  The wait is killing me, but the possibility of getting rejected is even worse...

Unless money comes up (schools seem to be the same cost), between the schools that I'm deciding between it's where I'll be happy and I only think a visit will decide that.

NYCK, you're really counting your chickens before they hatch with all this law school stuff.  Get the best grades you can in college when you even get there, and then junior year start thinking about the LSAT and which schools you should apply to.  Odds are your academic record (especially after you've got an LSAT score) will cut your choices way the hell down for you.

It really shocked me how many people I knew applied to LS before receiving their scores.
