GW--Again
« on: July 30, 2004, 08:15:59 PM »
well, although i have started threads on gw before, i though i would give it one more shot.  has anyone who is on their waiting list heard anything?  i am on the part time list and have heard nothing.  i feel like, even if they don't want me, the least they could do is send me a letter or an e-mail or a smoke signal or a telepathic message or something.  not bitter...anyway, has anyone else heard from them?

Theyre 40 people overenrolled so it would take at least that many people who have payed $1000 to not show up to school the first day. They still have a waiting list of 500. Basically they are assholes and I've had to go there in person twice to get that out of them.

yes you may.  my numbers are 3.7 and 161.

as for pessimistic attitudes.  i have tried to stay positive.  i, too, have been there twice in person.  at this point, however, i would just like an e-mail.  for all the effort i have put into this process, i don't think that's asking too much...

i'm not on the waiting list, but i met with an admissions counselor there a few weeks go, she said they were way overbooked in the program, and that no one would be getting off the waiting list...at least for full time...so if you're hoping to get in there off the waiting list into full time, i wouldn't get my hopes up

I didn't apply to GW but I was talking to the Dean of Admissions at GMU and she told me that they would "release" the waitlist. Don't mean to be a downer to anyone, but I hope the info helps someone out.
