EFC--Does it actually mean anything?

EFC--Does it actually mean anything?

So I just got my financial aid package...when they calculate it is it based off of total cost of attendance...or just tuition?  I thought I under stood it...but based on my package...apparently not.  Pace Law 32k/yr tuition 18k cost of living= 50k/yr.  My EFC is 10k.  My aid package is 4k grant 18500 stafford. WTF??  It must be just tuition... Any thoughts?  Help.

No its based on total cost.  You got the max in stafford loans.  Grants are based on what the school has available.  With a 10K EFC you are lucky to have gotten any grants.  Welcome to the horror that is USA Financial "Assistance."
