i just booked 2 nights at a hotel in center city. hotwire.com, pretty cheap, should be decent.  no way am i spending a night on a hardwood floor.  and here i thought i was going to be frugal  :D

I had a similar experience at Georgetown... my host was like, "Where's your sleeping bag?" and I was like, "Wha?"  Luckily she slept at her boyfriends, so I got her bed.

What part of CC are you in?  I'll be heading over from 9th and Chestnut, if you guys are nearby and want to go together, Goodgal and Kuokuo.  I will not be getting there at 9am, however.  Especially not after a crazy night of bowling!  ;)

Oh, PS, to the bowlers... my sister's coming with me.  So you can recognize me by my bringing of an escort....

I'm going to be staying at the Wyndham @ Franklin Plaza, which is at 17th & Race Streets.  I'm not really sure how I'll be getting to Penn from there, hopefully the concierge can help me out  ;)

Oh, and I also plan to get to the breakfast thing at the last minute.  Well, maybe with 15 minutes or so to spare.

Anyway I'm sure I'll meet you guys (a bunch of you anyway) at bowling?  I'll be the one wearing bright blue sneakers  :D   (assuming you see me before i change into bowling shoes)

It's a long walk, so you need to take public transit.  You can get a taxi (probably like 7-10 dollars), or you can take the subway ($1.30 if you buy tokens).

Anyone else staying at Club Quarters?  That's where I'll be staying.

I got an email today saying they are still finding me a host and that I should hear over the weekend.  Goodgal, I totally understand you're not wanting to sleep on the floor.  That's unacceptable.  In case that happens to me, I'll know not to feel bad when I say, "thanks, but no thanks." :-)

I see you guys at bowling too!  I'm also up for a bowling afterparty! :-)

Not. In. Yet. At. Penn.

So. Jealous.

Must. Think. About. Something. Else.

Ack.

LitDoc, that's how I was feeling during the NYU admit days... I just try to tell myself that I'm meant to be wherever I end up... clouds, silver lining, all that.

Anyone else just get an email telling them they wouldn't be getting any need-based aid?  No surprises there, given my parents' income.  Too bad they're not paying s-it! Sigh.

Just got the case, too!  It's about a schizophrenic woman who drowned her child.  She pled insanity, but the court said no dice because she didn't meet the "M'Naghten test," which states that in order to prove insanity a defendant must either not know the nature and quality of the act or not know that the act was wrong.

Well, I will be hosting one of you (I'm a 1L at Penn).  I got the assignment this morning, although I haven't sent out the email to the person yet.  Admit weekends are always a good time.

Ok, I just got my email from my "student host" and apparently she's hosting two of us...and only has one futon...and the only other option is the floor...YUCK!!!  i hate to be a princess but my floor sleeping days are over.  maybe i need to look into hotels...  did anyone else hear?

I used priceline and am paying 65 dollars a nite at the Hyatt Regency Philadelphia at Penns Landing.  All the hotels around the university are pretty expensive...and my friend told me just to stay in downtown...(where the Hyatt Regency is). He said getting to the University shouldn't be too hard.

I'm staying at the Hyatt Regency as well (I got a similar deal through hotwire).

I'm staying at Club Quarters.  But I'm driving so I'll have a car with me to get to the campus.

We're going to brave the public transportation system and see how that fares.  :)

You guys that got the no-money email - when did you submit your FAFSA/NeedAccess?  I'm a little surprised I didn't get one.
