There is no one thing. Everyone, black, white, or whatever is an individual and nothing makes you any more or less black. The second you attach "meaning" to being black you fall into the trap of stereotypes and generalizations. Now, if you want to learn about the black experience or black history, then I can recommend a few good books for you to read. Class dismissed.

I know what black means to others.  How it can affect their daily lives but skin color is only of secondary importance to me.  Development of your inner self is far more important than what others might peceive about the other you.
