I only applied to American cause I gave up all hope on higher ranked schools, I joked with a friend I'd have to kill myself if I didn't get in.  Guess I better bust out the arsenic...

Why would you have to kill yourself if you didn't get into American?  Your numbers are low for them, its not as if you were an auto-admit.
