I got a fee waiver and I was dinged, maybe because I applied late??

Maybe because they didn't like my essays?

I got the fee waiver and I haven't heard anything yet.  There were a lot of waitlistings today via email though.

I got the waiver and I got waitlisted...I'm thinking its because I didn't do any of the optional essays.

Hmm...well, I didn't get the waitlist email today. That's good, I guess. I sent my app on 1/1.

Seems that a lot of people didn't submit the optional essay, or submitted one but not the Why Michigan? essay. I am curious what effect this has. Anyone else submit only two LORs?

I also didn't get that waitlist email, and submitted my app on the 31st of December.   Not sure what this means for us... Hopefully nothing too awful, I'm really dying to go there   :-\

(I did write 2 optional essays including the Why Michigan, and had 4 LOR's, so I can't help you there. I also wonder what effect that will end up having if any.)
i like complicated :)

I got outright rejected with the fee waiver. From what I've heard it's either yield protection or my near lack of extracurriculars, since apparently Dean Zearfoss loves those. Either way, the fee waivers are just a way to get their numbers up.
