Do any WFU 1L's know where they are going to be living this fall?  I've never set foot in Winston-Salem and have no idea where to start looking.  Any insight would be appreciated!

As a general rule of thumb, try not to go past Cherry Street (I'd also stear clear of the area between Cherry and the Coliseum... it's a bit sketchy). I'd also stay west of 52 and north of I-40--you don't want to deal with downtown traffic every morning. Try to find something close to University Pkwy--that's the road the law school is on.

You should join the listserve if you haven't done so yet. There a few people looking for roomates.

be careful as to where on university.  its a big road and some of it sucks.  theres some good places on polo and reynolda

when i lived on polo i was broken into 3 times.

I'd go for one of the apartments in the area.  deacon ridge, crowne polo, crowne oaks, or crowne park.  I lived in the Trails and it wasn't as nice as the other apartments but it was cheaper.  My roommate and I paid $315/person for a 2br 2ba with a w/d

There was a string of burglaries in that area but the police came to our door and let us know that they had caught the guy.
