Questions from an LSD newbie
« on: February 26, 2006, 04:13:04 PM »
Howdy all. Please forgive my ignorance--I'm new and I don't visit all that often.

I'm wondering about a couple of abbreviations I've seen used a bit on the pre-law board. First is "Boalt". I believe that "Boalt" symbolizes Cal-Berkeley, but what exactly does it mean? Why type "Boalt" instead of Cal or Berkeley?

Second, what is the significance of "T14"? I'm guessing it means the top 14 ranked law schools, but why fourteen istead of 15, 20, 25, etc.???

Just trying to familarize myself with the board lingo. Thanks in advance.

Boalt Hall is the law school.

The top 14 schools (t14) have supposedly been the same, though changing positions within at times, since the beginning of the US News rankings.

 Thanks. Now I know.

New answer:  Dasein

Dasein + Knowing = The Battle

Knowledge of Heidegger plus LSD jargon = The Battle.

Demonstrating knowledge that Dasein is from Heidegger = priceless
