laptop for law school

i know that everyone is about to have huge bills, but I wanted to pass along a link for anyone in the market for a new laptop in law school.  i just got mine for a really good price and its wireless ready and everything you will need in law school (except you might need to get an external floppy if your school requires it).

here is the link:  http://www.pcmall.com/pcmall/shop/detail.asp?dpno=300314

"that deal is beat"  wtf is that

and "avaratec" vs. IBM ?  Man, I like to save the $ too, but that is a horrible comparison.

Shame on you Ginatio!

it's slang, stating that the ibm offer is not a good deal.

you can get better than that at that price.

and if you fit the original poster's intended audience of someone who is "about to have huge bills" and just needs the laptop to be "wireless ready and everything you will need in law school", then a cheap avaratec is the way to go.

Here's one a C cheaper, with slightly better specs without the IBM name.

It's what I got, and it's great so far.

Oh just look at Ben's Bargains or Fatwallet and pick up a laptop there for dirt cheap.  There's one today for $669.

Well despite all the great deals available, I went to Best Buy and bought a toshiba s206(I've heard at least 4 horror stories about compaq and sony/ibm/dell/hp were a bit more expensive).

Here's what I bought:

2.8 p4 w/hyper thread tech
533 fsb
1mb l2 cache
512 dimm
15.4" wxga
7.98 lbs
60Gig 4200rpm
802.11g/b
3 usb2 ports
cdrw/DVD combo drive
zip drive
ATI mobile radeon 9000 64mb shared
XP home
$1200 + $250 for 3yr bestbuy performance warrenty + $150 for msoffice = $1600
Freak is the best, Freak is the best!  Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I don't like calling you Freak, I'd rather call you  Normal Nice Guy.

I don't know where you people are shopping, but the prices in CA are way cheaper for the same products out here.  Either you are horrible shoppers, or can't find www.outpost.com

You can get a brand new laptop with most of the fancy gadgets and never pay over a grand for it.  We don't sell IBM's out here though, and why would you place so much money on a name whose parts came from overseas?

Yes, I was joking, you can buy an IBM in CA, just doesn't happen often.
And the sign said "Long-haired freaky people need not apply" So I tucked my hair up under my hat and I went in to ask him why. He said "You look like a fine outstanding young man, I think you'll do.  So I took off my hat, I said "Imagine that. Huh! Me workin' for you!"Sign, sign, everywhere a sign..
