What is the proper thing to do?  Email, snail mail, fax?

If you have been accepted there will be a form you can fill out and send back to the schools. That's what I did, but I'm sure email is ok for many schools. I did withdraw from one school before I had even heard because I knew there was no way I was going to go there and they were fine with email.

I e-mailed.  Although, Harvard requires snail mail.
