2-yr-old LORs
« on: July 26, 2004, 11:33:45 AM »
I'm reapplying to a different set of LS's this year (due to a job offer my senior year and subsequent move). I'm wondering if

1) ad coms will want a reason as to why i'm reapplying.
2) care that my recommendations saved on LSAC are two years old.  they are both from professors.

I don't think they'll care.  I have a rec that will be a year and a half old by the time adcoms will get a look at it.  I asked my prof right after I took a class with him, knowing full well that I was taking a year off after school.  Sometimes it makes sense to get recs when people are guaranteed to remember you, so I'm sure more people than you think have "old recs"

I would, however, consider adding a third rec (or replacing one of your academic recs if you already have 3) with a rec from the job you took, so you have some feedback on what you've been doing the last year.
