Oh, I assumed that you lived in Ontario.  OSAP is the Ontario Student Assistance Program.  Many students are on it.  I took it all through out university.  I heard that you can get up to $10 000 per year from it if you are going to a foreign law school. 

You might have something similar in your province and RBC might do the same thing with it. 
You might have to go back to your interesting loan officer. lol

You're confusing too different people here, but thanks for the info anyways. The officer in question did mention that they would look at your debt load, not just your credit worthiness, so you might be right about the crowding out of taking an OSAP loan (or for my part, whatever the Quebec government is offering).
