oh ok thanks. will schools tell you that they require this form? none of the schools that accepted me so far have mentioned it.

Seconded. Does anyone have a list of schools that require need access?

need access sucks dirt. I mean really, why duplicate some fafsa questions at all? oh, and get this, I had a very specific question about it, so I decided to call the need access people. I mean after all, I thought, it is their form and all. I seemed to know more about it than the lady at need acess did, AND they told me "we don't actually process the form" ! what the hell?!?! they dont process the goddamnm form? then what the hell am I paying THEM 15 bucks a pop for?!?! and don't even get me started on the fact that they want stepparent information even if you have never lived with them in your entire life. okay...I'm done for the moment...but, damn!

I have half a mind to call the UM Financial Aid Office and female dog out whoever answers the phone.  I am not filling out this form.

What I don't get is why Michigan needs this info.  They already ask you for your tax returns for two years and your parents' tax returns for five years.  With that and about five extra questions (how many people in your family will be in college next year, how will your income and your parents' incomes be changing next year, etc.), they could have way more information about you than they get from Need Access, and probably more accurate information too.

Of the schools I applied to, the ones that require Need Access are Harvard, Columbia, Chicago and Michigan.  I can't understand why schools that take such care to present themselves in such a good light would associate themselves with Need Access.

Don't do that! The person I've talked to every time at the Michigan finaid office has been soooo nice. Honestly the nicest person I've dealt with through this entire admissions process. Call NYU and female dog them out instead--they suck and are mean.

I hate that you cannot navigate easily throughout the sections and that you cannot erase information once you've entered it. At all. I called them up to ask how to erase information and, after being put on hold a few times so they could figure out the answer, I was told that there is no way at all to do it. You can only attach a note in the special circumstances section saying that you screwed up and please ignore the information.

Wait, do you mean after you'd paid and submitted the form? or what? because I've been able to change my entries prior to submission.
