I think I have fallen into some kind of admissions black hole

I am becoming increasingly confused by the law school admissions process.  I have applied to about 10 schools throughout the country some reaches, some good targets and some safties.  I am a bit of a splitter, a 162 with a 3.0 GPA from a top undergraduate program.  I have a ton of EC, challenging courseload and 3 years of interesting work experience.  I have gotten waitlisted and put on hold at a couple of law schools in the 20-50 range (USNEWS) but am being straight-out rejected at schools in the 90-Tier 3 level.  These were schools were I am in their GPA range and at the top of their LSAT range.  Obviously, I have put together a decent application since I am being considered at schools which I thought were a bit of a reach, but am getting speedy rejections from schools were I have a 60+% chance of getting in. This is just so annoying and I just wanted to rant. On the plus side I do have one acceptance from a Tier 3 with a considerable amount of money.
