Columbia gave me $$ while NYU gave me $0, so I don't see any reason to pay $50k for NYU versus $10k for Columbia.
I didn't qualify for the RTK and similar scholarships at NYU because I want to work for The Man for a while after graduation.I could have applied for need-based aid from NYU, but since Columbia comped me $40k x 3 yrs without my having to apply or jump through any hoops, I figured why bother applying for need-based aid from NYU...
I'm pretty sure it's not all need-based. They do also have Dean's scholarships which don't require a committment not to work for The Man, and I don't think are need based. I guess you may have to submit a financial aid form to be considered for them though.
