Any info on Mercer?

Are you from Georgia?  I can't possibly imagine living in Macon for three years.

Is Macon that bad?  I grew up in NY, went to school in DC, now living in MO for the Army.  I've been to GA (savannah) and loved it.

Guess it depends on what you are looking for

If you are looking for a fast-paced single life, Macon will probably not be for you.  With that said, I actually really like Macon.  It is close enough to Atlanta to enjoy the benefits of a large city, but has a small town academic feel to it.  My uncle went there and absolutely loved it.  My one problem with it is that (since I am married) my hubby would have a harder time finding work there so we would probably live halfway between Macon and Atlanta.

Well, Macon definitely isn't as cool as Savannah.

But yeah, it's only an hour or so away from Atlanta.  So, I guess one way to think about it would be that you wouldn't have much to distract yourself from your studies during the week but then if you wanted to actually go somewhere fun, you could drive to Atlanta or Savannah on the weekends!
