If we're going by that, I started June 21st, right after my finals.  Also, I started a job on the 28th.  Ha ha, this is so sad...

According to my schedule, I studied for last weeks midterm.

Yeah, riiiight...  :D

I'm not applying this cycle, but I hope to start planning my PS January 2005.  I don't expect anything special to happen between then and September of that year.  Plus, if I finish by June, I have the entire summer off.  NO THINKING WHATSOEVER!!!

Seriously, how long do you guys think we should plan out for writing the personal statement?  I don't take the LSAT until Oct. 2nd, I want my applications out by the end of Oct.  Right now I am thinking of waiting to write the PS until after the LSAT.  I know that it isn't the best idea...  But, I really want to focus on the LSAT.  With classes and work I'm not sure if I'll have a lot of time to put into the personal statement.  I am hoping to be able to finish it in about 1 week (it's only 2 pages right??).  Perhaps it would be easier if I had a great idea on what to write...

How far in advance do you all recommend beginning the writing of the personal statement?

Depends on whether you are applying in early nov. or not.  If so, you will be studying hardcore for the LSAT until October, then you would only have a month or so to write it and get feedback.

I figure by starting mine now and getting feedback, I will be ahead of the game.

In undergrad I procrastinated until the night before for most of my papers... LS is different.

Studying for the LSAT is a bigger priority.  Your score matters more than your PS.  Study for the test, and if you have time, start thinking of ideas and rough outlines, maybe.  No clue how long it should take, as I'm obviously on this thread because I haven't started yet :)

You make a good point.  You could also spend less time on this board and more time studying... but then what fun would life be... ;D

I figure I spend 1-2 hours on this board daily... that could be 1-2 more hours studying...

At least going on this board makes people motivated to study since we're all in the same situation. Oh wait, but then again, if we're all procrastinating...then...hmmm ...
