What does this mean?

I just received an email from a school.


"While we get to know you on paper, we are also interested in meeting you in person and invite you to visit campus if you haven't already done so."

Is this a form letter or do they really want to meet me?  Would it look bad if I don't go?  is this a subtle way of saying they want to interview me?

I work full time in another state. i can't just up and leave. Help!

Call and talk to them. They should be able to give you a feel for how important the trip would be.

it sounds more like a form letter they sent out to people encouraging them to visit if they are interested, i dont think they mean a formal interview.  similar to when it says on law schools' websites "come and visit the law school anytime" etc.
