Calling the law school?

is it bad etiquette to call the law school and inquire if they have made a decision on your file? i want to call so badly, but i am afraid it will look bad if i do...

I say go for it. Don't ask directly if a decision is made...try to get the information in a roundabout way. Just say you are checking to make sure they received everything. Charm the person. Ask what the process is from here, etc. I'm sure she will tell you if a decision has been made.

I called a school to set up a campus visit, and was told a decision was made and *hint hint* it was good.  So, if you can think of a good enough reason to call, you might as well try - just remember, there is a good chance that you will get the "we expect all decisions to be made by april..." anwser.

Why even hesitate? This isn't voodoo magic...the school knows you are interested in whether a decision has been made, just like everyone else. Just call and ask; they will probably be prepared for such requests and immediately look it up in your file.

On the other hand, I wouldn't call every single day - then you might actually annoy someone

I agree, if you can find a good reason then go for it. I called to check to make sure they had the right address and was told that a large package was sent to me the other day... I assumed that meant I was accepted and I was right!
