H4CS, I think you'll eventually get over your Harvard-blooded disdain for me. Or not, but that isn't my problem.

Doubtful.  If you did come here, the odds are against you as I seem to dislike about 50-75% of my classmates depending on how drunk I am.  I respect them, sure, doesn't mean these are people with whom I'd normally associate myself.  I also don't think I have more than one or two friends who came straight through, for what it's worth.

I'm sure none of them want to hang out with you either.

TITMFCR!!!!!

(I knew there was a reason I liked you, Spaulding  ;))

EDIT: Aside from all the other reasons, of course.

So when I visited it I hated it and ended up not applying but I have since realized it might easily be the best school in the country.  My best friend went there and based on the people I know who have come through Swarthmore, I can't think of another American school that has so consistantly produced excellent scholars.

And nerdphanie, if you do stick around you'll get over your grudge and realize I'm mostly harmless.  You'll catch yourself reigning in some highflying n00b someday before you know it.

My bias aside, I can't think of schools that could be better (though I have little doubt there can be or are schools that are just as good).  Sucks you didn't like it when you visited.  Admittedly, it wasn't my first choice school, but I'm definitely glad I came here over all others.

Stanford > Swarthmore.

Nerdphanie, are you trying to antagonize me, or do you just have a fetish for being wrong?

I stand by the Cardinal, Crane, though I salute you for running into the mouth of a school with no grade inflation.

I think that reputation (whether deserved or not) certainly played an immense role in boosting my shot at getting in to law school.

Is it undeserved? I hear people work real hard at Swarthmore.

We do, but I can't be so presumptuous as to assume we work any harder than students at other top schools.  Without having attended any other American schools, I can't say for certain that our grading is any more difficult.

Stanford is brimming with slackers, though I suppose you can say that about a lot of schools.

It's not presumptuous to say that Stanford is brimming with slackers. I always thought that was the main reason people went to Stanford. There aren't too many better place in the world to spend a four-year vacation.
