If you could trade all of your admissions for a shot at Yale

would you do it?  And what percentage shot would it take?

If you like you can substitute any other school.

Say for instance if you could trade all your acceptances (and thus not be guranteed of going anywhere) for a 90% chance at Harvard, would you do it?

I wouldn't trade mine, because I'm not even sure I'd go to H or Y over NYU (for personal reasons).

No - I am under the firm belief that once you reach a certain quality of LS (t5, t6, etc.), performace will be the main determinant of opportunity. Also, I have no desire to go into academia.

I haven't been accepted anywhere either, but the only future acceptance that I wouldn't trade for a 33% shot at Yale would be Chicago.

I am a gambler, so:

Yale, Harvard, or Stanford: 25%
Berkeley: 30%
Chicago, Duke, Virginia: 40%
Georgetown: 70%
USC: 80%

I was just throwing things out there. I don't even know that I'd choose HYS over UVa (which I may not choose over Chicago, NYU, GULC). Different people have different priorities, goals, etc.  For me, prestige is not all that's important.

Ya, I almost certainly would not go to Yale even if I got in. I'd rather graduate top 25% at a Top 10 than bottom 25% at Yale.

No real grades or ranking, so this isn't a problem.  No one will ever know you are in Yale's bottom 25%.
