what also annoys me somewhat is that a 15-year-old undergrad gpa, earned while working full-time, has more of an effect than a more recent graduate degree.

Well, I think law schools have to balance that with the fact that somebody who has gotten multiple degrees in a non-law field may be going to law school just to stay in school. To me, it's kind of ridiculous when people have a BA, MA, PhD, and now they want a JD... but what do I know, I got my BA and worked for ten years!
