Interesting factoid: The Texas state song, "Texas, Our Texas," once included the line, "Largest and Grandest." However, upon Alaska becoming a state, the line was changed to "Boldest and Grandest."

Actually, Texas is second in both population and land mass.

It passed New York a little over 10 years ago.
