FAFSA & W-2's and 1040's
« on: January 18, 2006, 12:49:13 PM »
So, I'm looking over the FAFSA on the Web Worksheet, and I'm looking particularly at Worksheets A, B, and C, on page 8.  Where can I get a copy of my 1040 so that I can complete Worksheet A?  Also, where on the application do they ask for your W-2 info?  Man, I was doing well til I hit these worksheets.

Got it...thanks.  After actually reading it more in depth, I gathered that.  Have ppl already started receiving their w-2's?

You can also estimate it from your last paystub, too, so you don't have to wait for the W2. Grab a copy of a 1040 from the irs website and play with it that way.

Since I'm not applying until next year, I'm going to compare my W2 when I get it to what my company's online payroll stuff says.

The 1040 (or 1040A or 1040EZ) is the form that you get as a result of filing your taxes (if you use one of the online services, like taxact.com, it will just spit this form out for you once you give them all your info).  So basically to get a 1040, you need to file your taxes.

ooooh I've never seen that website before, thanks goodgal! :)
