Tell me about it...I hate my gut.  It's the one part of my body I'm not satisfied with...

Me too.  Worst part is that I look build.  I have huge shoulders and makes me carry my weight well.  This girl once asked me to see my 6 pack.  She killed me with that sentence, I knew there would be no pleasing here.
Mr. White: Smoke?
Mr. Pink: I quit.

Mr. Pink: What, you got one?

QUESTION FOR DORIAN:

Is it normal to gain weight first? It seems that I gained weight instead of lost some...after all this exercising!

Will I eventually lose the weight?

If you start weight training you might gain weight first as your body builds more muscle after than it loses fat.  But you should still be losing inches even as you gain weight.

yes it's normal. because if you are doing some weight lifting, you gain muscle mass. and muscle mass weighs more than fat. in time, you will eventually lose weight. keep your attenion on sizes of the clothes. i measure myself every morning(just the waist). the weight def. fluctuates, moreso for us girls.

cosigned on the advicd to Starlit- also be patient!  Especially if you are only looking to lose a few lbs (5-10) your weight loss will be slower.  I haven't lost any weight and I have been at this for well over a month!

Congrats vanna!

I do mine pretty slow- about 12 minutes or so.  I do a combo of running/speed walking, but keep my heart rate above 150 at all times.  I've heard from several reliable sources that alternating speeds is very effective.  When I first started I would do 2 min speed walking, 3 jogging/running, but now I don't force myself to do a certain time and end up spending way more time running.

I'm also really slow...around 9+ min miles, but I do nearly 4 miles every time I go for a run so what I lack in speed I make up for in distance.

I should have said this too. :)  I always do at least 45 minutes of running, so generally 3-5 miles.

I ran outside yesterday and it was beautiful, but my feet were killing me by mile 2.5!  And I couldn't carry water, so I'm not sure I'll try that again.

Yesterday, I read your post on how you are 5'4" and went from 125-110. I am totally your size,  and that is my goal. It was really inspiring...since I miss my size zero jeans from armani ...lol. Anyway, what did you eat? I know you said you ate carbs in the morning and protein at night (not after 6) ..but can you give me an example of your diet... Thanks so much!
