Cartoon PS.
« on: July 19, 2004, 01:19:40 AM »
Although premature, I haven't even written my LSATs yet..., but I was thinking about sending a cartoon PS to my reach schools, like HYS.  I know people do this for their undergrad personal statements, what do you people think about using a cartoon for law school?  Good, bad, or krazy?
When in doubt on the LSAT, always choose F as the answer.

I think the popular opinion is that gimmicks are not a good idea.

The two PS books I've read, and Law School Confidential have both stressed in big, bold letters that a gimmicky PS is the best way to make sure your application ends up in the trash.

Cartoon PS may not send the message you want to send.  LS want serious people.

Another thing is that the Admissions Council people from top schools (and from the same region) talk, so if you send in something ludicrous but nonetheless "original" and they mention it to each other, then their already poor opinion will further sink.

I agree with everyone here.  PS cartoon is a bad idea.  LS is about writing, not drawing.  Have a blue and start working on your statement.  You will want to do it sometime soon so you can have family/friends take a look at it and provide you feedback.

A cartoon?  You have got to be shitting me.  You might as well just not send in an application at all.

Just my opinion, though.
