I bought Wicked today and ma 200 pgs in and find it marvelous

wicked is good.

but the ugly stepsister (i think that's the one) is better.

I didn't like Wicked until I was finished (the book that is - the musical is super fun)

I really didn't like Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister.  I kept hoping it would redeem itself in the end, but alas, it did not.  Definitely not my style.

I truly believe Gregory Maguire is overrated. So he's writing modern twists on fairy tales. Big deal.

I like Jasper Fforde's "revisions of basic mythology/literature" books much better.
