I just finished Survivor, by Chuck Palhniuk, and am still in the middle of Lipstick Traces and Harry Potter y la piedra filosofal.

Did you like Survivor?  That was one of my favorites from the Chuck.

I liked it, but it's not my favorite of his.  That would have to be Lullaby.

Is that the one with the bird on the cover? I think I read it a while ago...

I finished it today, and it is wonderful. Fablously tied together, smart, and the ending was so good I literally fell out of my chair on to the floor in awe. The middle gets a bit dry, but you MUST make yourself read the whole thing. A masterpiece, a must read.

Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister

Let us know if it's any good. My roommate has a copy and I'm contemplating a quick read through.

Thanks, it's now next on my list. I still have 200 pages of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire.

Lullaby is great, but I think my favorite is Diary.  It's like Lullaby on steroids.

As I read Diary, I kind of kept expecting that there was going to be more there, but there never was.  Not necessarily in a bad way, but in an unsatisfying way.  Like a very sparse sketch of something interesting.  Still good, but I prefered Lullaby.

To each his (or her) own.  :)  As long as you're a Palahniuk fan, I don't care which is your favorite.

I'm finishing up Wicked now - have about 20 pages left (fell asleep last night while reading it).  It's a pretty disappointing book after having seen the musical.  Had I not seen and loved the musical so much this would have been one of those books I put down and didn't finish - it's so poorly written.

I'm also starting Gödel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid by Douglas Hofstadter

And I have some friends in a book club who are about to start reading In Cold Blood, so I'll probably read that with them.
