Does major GPA matter

If your major GPA is higher or lower than your cum. GPA, is that considered by the adcomms?

I would have to say that it depends. If you did very well in your major, compared to your overall GPA, it'll definately help. Also, if you've done worse during your early undergraduate years taking required classes, but did well towards the end of ur undergrad taking major classes, your upward trend in grades will help... but other than that, your overall GPA will weigh very heavily, and how well u performed in your major won't matter so much.

it won't matter at all. my major gpa (3.5) was much better than my overall (3.0), and it didn't matter.

I doubt that it is considered.

Besides if you have a high GPA for your major and a low GPA for your other courses, it could indicate that you lack concentration.
