UBC? Should I bother?
«

My top LSAT (which is used at UBC) is 162/87th, and my GPA for my last 2 years is 3.63. Could anyone with better knowledge of the school tell me what my chances are? From looking at their website I don't seem to stand a very good chance, but some people are telling me to give it a shot? Any thoughts?
Much appreciated,
Mike

Give it a shot for sure! 162 is a great LSAT score. You never know.

K i forgot that UBC takes pretty much your entire UG (minus 4 semester courses)... now I have gone from unsure of my chances to pretty sure I wouldn't get in...
My total UG less 4 courses works out to 3.41. With a 162, what are my odds?

K, the 3.4 isn't steller, but the 162 is. Its a numbers game so you never know. Worth applying, just have plan B.

the ubc website gives an obviously inflated picture of student quality. i think you are competitive.

Getting to this a few days late, but in case it helps...
I've already been accepted to UBC with 3.3/173. Obviously, my LSAT is very good, but they're clearly willing to accept lower GPAs in the right circumstances. If I'm in this early (more than a month ago, actually) then you stand a good chance of getting in later in the process. Just make sure your PS is good, and targeted to UBC.

Yes, you should apply there. Your numbers are competitive.
Best of luck
